1. The spiritual reality, as established in Genesis, Chapter 1, is that there is only one God, Good, and that He created man in His image and likeness. In other words, we are all, originally, naturally, and forever God-like.  

2. The “glass darkly” is a metaphor that Paul uses to explain why we appear to live in a world of opposites, good and evil.  According to Paul, in this illusory life experience, we seem only to “know in part.” (I Corinthians 13:12)

3. As Mrs. Eddy studied the teachings of Christ Jesus she discovered that in order for humanity to understand and therefore demonstrate the spiritual reality, the “Truth that makes us free” - the divine Principle that Jesus taught - humanity must grow in the graces of God, Spirit, Love.  We assimilate a spiritual sense of Truth as we are “honest, unselfish, loving, and meek” - cultivating the “fruit of the Spirit.” (Galatians 5:22, 23)   

4. Paul said, “Work hard to show the results of your salvation, obeying God with deep reverence and fear.” (Phil 2: 12 NLT) 

5. Through love, a fervent desire to follow Christ Jesus in the way, research, Bible study, prayer, inspiration, and demonstration (healing), Mrs. Eddy grew in her understanding of the truth of man’s spiritual nature.  She wrote a book about what she learned, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, which became the textbook of Christian Science.  This book opens up the Science of Love.
